The following are additional representations of my past work experiences.
Embracing digital’s significance as today’s primary news source, I implemented our station group’s first digital and social media policy in 2016, which defined strategic best practices to strengthen our competitive positioning.
Included with this was an official mission statement that delineated its ultimate purpose: “Establish an engaging and captive social media environment that ultimately converts users to additional digital traffic and newscast viewership.”
Within 6 months of implementation, we indisputably distinguished ourselves as the market leader in digital & social media, stealing significant market share from our closest competitor.
Digital+Social First has since been recognized with two Local Media Association Awards in Best Social Strategy.
With CVS/pharmacy being a new entry to the Minneapolis market, little was known about the company and its offerings. In 2006, I began development of a new in-store campaign designed to better introduce and promote the company.
As part of the campaign, I produced two comprehensive videos, one targeted at employees and another at customers. The videos were segmented into different focus areas: ExtraCare, Pharmacy, MinuteClinic, Beauty, Photo Center, and private label brands.
I was a key individual involved in planning and organization the 8th, 9th, and 10th Annual BCA Women’s Golf Classic tournaments, an annual charity tournament intended to raise funds and awareness for Breast and Cervical Cancers. The 8th Annual event proved to be one of the most successful in its 8-year run, attracting 98 golfers and raising thousands of dollars.
KFYR-TV’s Fall Premiere Party is an annual marketing and networking event targeted at local ad agencies. The event includes a formal luncheon, where we present new and upcoming developments, such as schedule changes and product launches.
I coordinated the event in 2014, 2015, and 2016. This also included production of several marketing elements, including 2 booklets each year.
In 2011, I took the lead role in planning, designing, and implementing the new KXNet.com – North Dakota’s top-ranked news website. After creating a functional mockup website, I established a project plan and spent the next five months leading all efforts in coordinating with suitable vendors to fully develop the new site.
After its December 2011 launch, I assumed the role of directing all website and social media efforts, including training, digital ad trafficking, maintenance, support, and general administration.
In 2003, I took the initiative to design and pitch a new Electronics department layout for the Bismarck Kmart. The primary goals of the project were to improve sales, particularly from impulse purchases, and decrease department theft by enclosing the department and improving line of sight.
After approval by store management and corporate, the new design was implemented in August of that year and remained largely unchanged for years.
Frustrated by any lack of references for department products, I took the initiative to produce a department handbook. The first edition was published in 2003 and six editions were published in all, updated on a quarterly basis.
