Untailored: A Life Better Suited

Published in 2026, Untailored: A Life Better Suited is my debut fiction novel and third published book. It is a coming-of-age story about nineteen-year-old Adam Wiley, whose gilded upbringing among Minnesota’s Lake Minnetonka elite collapses overnight when his family’s fortune is exposed as a house of cards built on debt.

Stripped of his privilege, home, and sense of identity, Adam flees on a one-way bus to New York City determined to rebuild the life he thought was destined to be his. Instead, he faces constant rejection and finds himself thrust into a classic fish-out-of-water reality, trading wealth, privacy, and certainty for crowded hostel bunks, restaurant shifts, and life among the ordinary people he once overlooked. As his carefully tailored future unravels, Adam discovers that losing everything may be the only way to find out who he really is, including a relationship he can’t quite define.
