With the departure of the long-time founding co-anchor of KFYR-TV’s North Dakota Today, I recognized the opportunity to completely reinvent the daily topical morning show’s image and proposed a complete re-branding effort.
Upon approval, I supervised the project through its end, beginning with a new logo and color scheme. I produced several variations, which were narrowed down by a committee to the final approved logo.
To completely differentiate the show from its Fargo-based counterpart, we adopted NDToday as the official moniker moving forward. As a homage to the show’s common informal name, I emphasized “NDT” in bold. An orange-yellow color scheme was selected.
I also designed a new backdrop that strongly connects with North Dakota, with a sunflower field layered in front of the Badlands.
Once the logo and color scheme was approved, our production team produced corresponding on-air graphics.
