The first songs created by Randy Hoffman were very simplistic and ordinary. The first songs typically only contained a drum kit, piano, bass, one string instrument, and one heavily synthesized brass ensemble. With simple arrangements and patterns, this small arsenal of instruments provided music filled with high energy, but very little progression throughout the song, often repeating the same pattern over and over again with slight moderations throughout the course of the song.
